Program 8 - Proposal

The Europeans on the Spice Route

Two different types of program are proposed:

Medieval times

From the Iberian al-Andalus of the 12th / 13th centuries (songs by Ibero-Arab authors, Holy Mary songs with Perso-Arab influence) in northern Spain at the end of the 14th century (instrumental pieces of Eastern influence, vocal pieces by Maestro Piero, Bartolino of Padova and Filipoctus of Caserta).

Time of the discoveries

Music inspired by the Canary Islands of Spain, music from the Jesuit college of Goa, in India, and "black" vilancicos or "guineos" from Africa.
